Secret of life

The last few months I've been trying to simplify my life.

In the last 2 weeks I'm doing it.

I'm clearing out the cobwebs, trimming the fat, scraping clean the corrosion of time.

It has not been easy. I'm running low on energy - quite literally. I'm moving past the hump of acclimation into a new diet - the lack of caffeine has made my eyes threaten to jump from my skull.

I am striving to have truer relationships. Quality not quantity.

To take time to write, to ponder - when I'm inspired. Not because it is on my "to-do" list. Or when I've got something fabulous to share.

To breathe deeper. More quietly. More soulfully.

Look past the immediate. Past the tired. Past the hunger. Past the pain. Past the deadline. Past the crankiness. Past being broke. Past the icy driveway.

Have I found the secret?  Do I hold the key that unlocks that door?

This song (which won't allow me to embed here...) has pushed me to grab life by the balls on several occasions.

Listen to it. Sam the bartender knows it.

You don't get your money back!

Kind of happened to me several months ago. I was about to hit 30 and I was looking at myself in the mirror and I noticed that I was having some problems breathing from smoking and being over weight. So, I grabbed life by the balls, quite smoking, and am still working out at the gym.

However, you are a braver woman than I giving up caffeine. I gave up pop quite easily but I will never, ever give up my coffee. I don't think you could even get it from my cold, dead heads.

Love ya' babe! Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Sugar! I'm surrounding myself with positive forces - friends new and old - to get through this.

You know me...the diet has pulled cream and sugar from my grasp, and coffee just doesn't do it for me any other way!

I had a similar epiphany a few weeks ago. Amazing what stepping back can do for you!
